Rural New South Wales.
Ben Bowley was born and bred in Australia’s ‘bush country’ - and following a successful 18 year corporate career, he decided, in 2002, to set up an air touring business, dedicated not only to showing you the magnificent scenery which he feels privileged to call his childhood backyard - but also to introducing you to some of the great characters who have spent their life living in rural Australia. Ben has been a pilot for 10 years. His truly unique Full Day Air Safari from Sydney aboard a twin engine aircraft begins with a spectacular 45 minute scenic flight over the Blue Mountains enroute to the Upper Hunter Valley (north west of Sydney) where you will land on the bush airstrip - right outside the front of the homestead - at Middlebrook Station - an 11,000 acre working sheep and cattle property which has been in the Henderson family for 3 generations. Suzanne and Allan Henderson (or ‘Hendo’ as Allan is affectionately known) are wonderful hosts - and Hendo will take you on a 4WD station tour - to see wild kangaroos - but also to give you a fascinating insight into life in rural Outback Australia. Following a relaxing BBQ lunch at Middlebrook, reboard the aircraft to fly to the Hunter Valley for an afternoon’s wine appreciation and tastings - a local guide will be waiting to meet you. Savour the wine country atmosphere and discuss the different varieties with the winemakers themselves, before heading back to Sydney on an exhilarating scenic flight down the New South Wales coastline and over Sydney’s beaches - flying at only 500 feet! Air traffic control permitting, the day culminates with a breathtaking flight over Sydney Harbour!
