Southern Ocean Lodge is Kangaroo Island’s only world-class wilderness lodge - a sanctuary of comfort, style and intimacy.  Located at Hanson Bay on the island’s south west coast, the lodge - which opens in March 2008 - adjoins two National Parks and is at the heart of the island’s major attractions.  Its dramatic cliff top setting showcases a full frontal panorama of the pounding surf below.

Endowed with majestic views of the awe inspiring Southern Ocean and featuring custom designed interiors, every consideration of this eco chic lodge  has been given to navigating the fine balance between nature, comfort and contemporary style - the twenty one luxurious suites create the ultimate fusion between nature and luxury.

Each suite features a lavish king sleeping area, a sunken lounge, dramatic glass walled bathroom with designer fixtures and an outdoor terrace with occasional seating and daybed. Signature design elements including local limestone and recycled timber blend seamlessly with the natural environs, harnessing the beauty of the landscape. A range of suite styles are available, with the premium Osprey Pavilion offering extra indulgences including an open fire and a private plunge spa.

All meals, beverages and exceptional guided adventures and experiences are included in the tariff.  A range of signature activities are offered daily allowing guests to encounter the island’s rich and varied wildlife and unique natural attractions - often with exclusive access and always with a touch of luxury! Children under 6 years are not catered for.

PRICES Prices from £385 per person per night based on 2 people sharing. Flights to Australia vary in price considerably depending on date of departure though there are always good deals on quality airlines. Fares on Qantas/British Airways, for example can start from as little as £699 including taxes and fuel surcharges. From April 2008, Qantas will be introducing its all-new Premium Economy cabin. With dedicated check in, 40" seat pitch, extra width and enhanced meal service, all this extra luxury comes at a suprisingly low upgrade cost. Please ask your sales consultant for more details.
